Hey you!
Have you ever wanted to DJ, maybe bought a controller… and then realized you had no idea what to do next? Or maybe you already know how to load tracks and make a few transitions, but your mixes still feel inconsistent and you’re not always sure why some techniques work and others don’t. So you start watching tutorials. You pick up bits and pieces, but it still feels scattered. You try to understand: "How do I actually put everything together, improve my techniques, understand music theory, and make a good mix from start to finish?" That’s why I created this course.
Here’s the story.
My name is Max, I’ve been DJing for more than 8 years. I started by learning myself, then went to DJ school in my, and eventually became a teacher there. For several years, I taught DJing in-person, one-on-one and worked with more than 200 students. Practicing in the studio, recording mixes, playing live at shows and clubs. And I noticed something: Beginners usually struggle with the same things. How do I set-up my home studio? When should I bring the next track in? Why do my transitions sound messy? How do I build a full mix? Over time, I kept refining the way I taught these fundamentals. Simplifying them. Changing the order. Removing what beginners don’t need yet.
That became IcyMusic.
This course follows the same practice-proven step-by-step structure. You’ll learn your controller and software, understand electronic music theory, structure, practice different types of transitions, different genres and then put everything together. The goal isn’t to memorise every button. The goal is to understand what you’re doing well enough to choose your music, mix with confidence and record a complete DJ set of your own. Or maybe perform to your friends or family, or at your local venue. And once you can do that, DJing starts to feel very different. You stop guessing. You stop worrying about every mistake. You start hearing where a transition should happen, preparing tracks faster and building mixes that actually flow. For some students, the goal was simply to enjoy DJing at home after work. Others wanted to record their first mix, play for friends, or finally feel confident enough to share what they had made. Different goals - same foundation. And that’s where the real satisfaction starts. Your controller stops feeling like something you bought but never fully learned to use. You can sit down, pick a few tracks you actually love, and build something from them. You hear the difference in your own transitions. You notice your timing getting better. You start making decisions because you understand what works - not because you copied someone else. And eventually, you finish a mix, listen back to it, and think: “Yeah. I actually made this.” That feeling matters. You might never want to play a huge festival. Maybe your goal is to mix at home after work, record sets for yourself, play at a party, or upload something you’re genuinely proud of. That’s enough. IcyMusic is here to help you get to that point faster, with less confusion and a much clearer path. Understand the setup. Understand the music. Learn how to mix. Then make it your own. That’s what this course is built to help you do. Just learn. Practise. Mix. Enjoy it. Max Romay, Founder of Icy Music

What People Are Saying
Don't just take our word for it. Here's what students like you are experiencing after taking this course.
I bought a controller on a bit of an impulse and then realised I had no clue what half the buttons did. The course made the setup feel way less intimidating. After a few lessons I was already mixing tracks instead of just clicking around in Rekordbox.
Toronto, Canada
I’d been learning from YouTube for months and knew random bits and pieces, but there were huge gaps. The biggest thing for me was finally understanding how everything connects - track structure, cueing, EQ, transitions. It stopped feeling like guesswork.
London, UK
I’ve always been obsessed with house music, but DJing felt like this thing you either somehow knew how to do or you didn’t. The course made it feel very learnable. By the end I’d recorded a mix for my friends, which felt pretty unreal.
Berlin, Germany
My favourite part was building the final mix. It gave me a reason to stop endlessly practising individual transitions and actually put something together from start to finish. I’ve listened back to it way too many times.
Copenhagen, Denmark
I wanted DJing as a hobby, nothing more serious than that. I just wanted to come home, put some music on and actually know what I was doing. This course gave me enough structure to enjoy it instead of getting frustrated.
Vancouver, Canada
I don’t have loads of free time, so I liked that I could just do a lesson, practise for a bit and come back later. There’s no pressure to keep up with anyone. I ended up practising way more consistently because of that.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
I actually tried learning DJing years ago and gave up. This time I understood what I was doing instead of copying what I saw someone else do. That made a massive difference for me.
Barcelona, Spain
Max is really good at explaining things without overcomplicating them. Even the more technical parts felt easy to follow. It honestly felt more like learning from a friend who knows exactly the topics I would get stuck on.
